Every member of staff is put through our own specialist training programme
At Country Care Homes we recognise the importance of training all our staff so that our teams have the skills to carry out their duties to as high a standard as possible. New care staff work through our own 12 week induction programme, after which they move on to study for a diploma. Alongside this program, all staff are required to undergo regular mandatory training in fire safety, food hygiene, infection control and other essential areas. Our registered nurses are required to maintain their competency through on-going study. The domestic, laundry, maintenance and catering teams all attend training programs to improve their personal skills and to keep up to date with current legislation.
Both homes are led by matrons, personally selected by Norma and Chad. The matrons manage all aspects of the homes and are assisted by deputies who share expertise, experience and training to ensure that both Firlawn and Hill House are not only fully compliant with CQC regulations but offer the highest standard of care to residents.
Our housekeepers lead teams who ensure that rooms are clean, tidy and looking good, and that residents' laundry is cleaned to a high standard and safely returned to their rooms.
Our maintenance team has many years experience in the maintenance of care homes and are also trained in Fire Safety, an important aspect to ensure the safety of our residents. One of the continuing tasks is keeping the homes freshly painted.
